Kenneth Yellowe: A discussion on oil production in West Africa

Among the countries with an expanding oil and gas industry is Nigeria; today, the industry is the largest in the country. Petroleum companies such as Kenneth Yellowe’s Global Energy Group are a major employer. For the developing nations of West Africa, Nigeria in particular, the oil industry provides both a boon and a challenge; Nigeria alone faces many hurdles that it needs to address to bring the oil wealth to more people.

Elsewhere in Africa’s west coast, countries have yet to fully tap the potential of proven viable reserves. The oil industry in nearby Ghana is still in a fledgling state. While Ghana has yet to fully exploit its large oil reserves, firms from both the country and abroad are working to improve the oil infrastructure in the country.

It falls upon the governments, the people, and the oil companies to distribute the oil wealth fairly to bring prosperity to the oil-rich nations of West Africa. It falls upon the oil companies like Global Energy Group to provide more employment opportunities for the people and to address environmental concerns that would potentially affect these countries’ other natural resources.

Kenneth Yellowe: Raising environmental awareness in Nigeria

The environment is an important determinant that describes the life of the people who reside in it. For this reason, Kenneth Yellowe, as founder, owner, and CEO of Global Energy Group (GEG), strives hard not only in preserving Nigeria’s natural treasures but also in educating Nigerians about the environmental problems they face.

Other than giving Nigerians jobs through his oil and gas production company, Yellowe also helps the citizens through teaching them how to maintain a healthy environment. For one, he, together with the team of experts that compose GEG, holds livelihood programs that educate families about the environment-friendly ways to earn money.

Yellowe does this as he believes that without adequate awareness on environmental issues, long-term consequences can and will happen to Nigeria. These consequences include environmental deterioration, degradation, and incessant off-setting of the ecological balance, which all result to tragedies for humans.

Kenneth Yellowe believes that every Nigerian has an important role to take in the crusade for environmental preservation. He aspires to reach more people so that less will be victimized by the natural calamities that hit Nigeria, including gully erosions and flooding.

An environment where both Nigerians and GEG can complement each other’s growth—this is what Yellowe aims for. And this is why he makes sure that what he does in his company does not endanger Nigeria’s natural riches in any way.
